Dina N. Paltoo, PhD, Named Acting Deputy Director of Policy and External Affairs, National Library of Medicine
Dina N. Paltoo, PhD, has been named Acting Deputy Director of Policy and External Affairs at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)’s National Library of Medicine (NLM).
In this role, Dr. Paltoo will establish and implement policy frameworks that guide NLM’s research, operations, and public services and oversee NLM’s relationships across the NIH and with external groups. She will also work alongside NLM’s Deputy Director for Operations and Innovation.
“We are fortunate to have Dr. Paltoo come back to NLM in this role as she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to advance NLM’s long established commitment to public policy and external affairs,” said NLM Acting Director, Stephen Sherry, PhD.
Dr. Paltoo comes to NLM from NIH’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute as Assistant Director, Scientific Strategy and Innovation in the Immediate Office of the Director. Dr. Paltoo was previously at NLM, where she served as the Assistant Director for Policy Development.
Dr. Paltoo received her BS in Microbiology and PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from Howard University and her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
