Drug and Chemical Information – On Demand is a revised series of self-paced courses designed to introduce you to National Library of Medicine (NLM) products that provide drug and chemical information for consumers, health care professionals, researchers, and clinicians, including information on drug side effects, interactions, chemical properties, and adverse effects.
The series is composed of three separate courses that blend hands-on activities, practice quizzes, and authentic problem-based scenarios to guide you through using MedlinePlus, DailyMed, Bookshelf, LiverTox, LactMed, PubChem, PubMed, and ClinicalTrials.gov to answer common library user questions. You can complete all three courses or just the ones you need.

Each class offers 2 Medical Library Association (MLA) continuing education credits. Additionally, each course qualifies for Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) Level 1 competencies including C3: Knowledge of Subject Matter and Resources, C4: Evaluation of Health Information, and C5: Communication, Reference, and Information.
