Updated Dataset Catalog Beta Now Available

Updated Dataset Catalog Beta Now Available. NLM Tech Bull. 2024 May-Jun;(458):e3.

2024 May 24 [posted]

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has recently added a new repository to the Dataset Catalog, a catalog of biomedical datasets from selected publicly available repositories.

Based on feedback from users, NLM will gradually add new repositories to the initial four — dbGap, Dryad, ImmPort, and Harvard Dataverse — during the beta phase. The first new repository to be added is Borealis, The Canadian Dataverse Repository. It is a bilingual, multidisciplinary, secure, Canadian research data repository, supported by academic libraries and research institutions across Canada. Borealis participates in open harvesting of metadata, which means public datasets are discoverable through tools such as Google Dataset Search and now, the Dataset Catalog.

There are plans to add additional repositories through July (see Figure 1). Additional improvements to functionality will be implemented and communicated in future Technical Bulletin articles. Please check out the website and provide feedback via the blue "Give Feedback" button at the right of the page.
