MedMaster Patient Drug Information Now Available from Bookshelf
As of September 20, 2007, patient drug information, also known as MedMaster, from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is available on the [link removed] NCBI Bookshelf. MedMaster records are retrieved from a Bookshelf search, but at this time, the title is not displayed on the Bookshelf table of contents. [Editor's Note: This title was made available in the Bookshelf table of contents on October 5, 2007.]
This is the same patient drug information that MedlinePlus® has provided to consumers since November 2002. The Bookshelf MedMaster also links to the MedlinePlus version. This Bookshelf version will allow PubMed to link to the drug records in the future.
ASHP, the creator of MedMaster, "is a national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care, and other components of health care systems. ASHP, which has a long history of medication-error prevention efforts, believes that the mission of pharmacists is to help people make the best use of medicines."
